The electronic International Journal of Time Use Research eIJTUR vol. 13 is the last volume under the current editorial board consisting of Prof. Dr. Joachim Merz (Managing Editor and Editor, Leuphana University Lueneburg, Germany), Prof. Jonathan Gershuny Editor, Oxford University, UK) and Prof. Andrew S. Harvey (Editor, Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada) and Kimberly Fisher (Book Editor, Oxford University, UK).
Starting January 1, 2017 all publishing activities so far done and hosted by the Research Institute on Professions (Forschungsinstitut Freie Berufe, FFB, wwww.leuphana.de/ffb) of the Leuphana University Lueneburg, Germany, will further be managed directly by the International Association of Time Use Research ( www.IATUR.org).
We would like to thank indeed the current assistant to the managing editor Normen Peters M.Sc., all authors, referees, co-editors and all other contributors who made eIJTUR possible. Time is the encompassing dimension and resource of the activities of individual living. The objective of time use research is to provide a theoretical and empirical base to describe and explain individual time use and to analyse economic and social policies. Such research addresses, from a socio-economic perspective, individual uses of time and their interdependency.
eIJTUR is a double-blind refereed international journal for the publication of quality research that makes an original contribution to the advancement of time-use knowledge. The internet based platform for eIJTUR signals its dedication to the rapid dissemination time-use research
eIJTUR will present theoretical, substantive and methodological material. Theoretically it will explore the forces shaping individual and societal time-use. Substantively it will examine issues in the labour market (including new forms of work arrangements), personal, household, family, educational and leisure activities, and the context in which they occur. Contextual dimensions of interest might include studies of the occurrence of multiple simultaneous activities, the location of activities, co-presence, as well as subjective dimensions such as enjoyment, tension and choice. Material across a wide range of disciplines and approaches will be sought and presented, Methodologically the journal will seek and present research on issues relating to time-use data collection, via time use diaries, stylized questionnaires or other approaches and to time-use analysis and presentation.
eIJTUR seeks to present high quality research in a timely manner.
Research papers will be selected through a double blind refereeing process,
overseen by an international editorial board.
Proceedings of conferences and long expository papers
(monographs) will be accepted at the discretion of special issue
editors.
Time Pieces - New Developments in Time Technology - Data, Computing, Services contributions
as well as
Book reviews are also very welcome.
In addition, abstracts of
accepted submitted papers will be posted prior to the final published volume.
Papers will officially be presented on the internet in volumes when they are
accepted for publication and a completed copyright form has been received.
eIJTUR is offered as an open access journal. It is free of charge to individuals, libraries, academic and commercial organizations. Free registration is required entitleling a free email notification services.
