Description: The American Lung Association in Delaware will host a ‘Women’s Lung Health Day’ on Wednesday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 700 North King Street, Wilmington. The program is an educational conference which will provide women with the latest information about preventing lung disease and improving lung health. “Women make the majority of the family’s healthcare decisions and often serve as caregivers for their husband, children, and even parents,” said Will Braunlein, program specialist of the ALADE. “Women’s Lung Health Day” will bring together experts in a variety of fields related to lung health. Dr. Tyra Bryant-Stephens, founder of the Community Asthma Prevention Program of Philadelphia (CAPP) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, will speak about childhood asthma and caregiver concerns; Dr. Albert A. Rizzo, speaker of the Nationwide Assembly of the American Lung Association, and Chief of the Section of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine for Christiana Care Health Services, will discuss how COPD affects women. “These experts will provide attendees with valuable information about prevention, risk factors, treatment, and advocacy – information that will educate and empower women to take charge of their health by making informed healthcare decisions,” said Braunlein.
