USGS Scientist participates in Coastal Water Quality Workshop in India:

USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center Geologist Cheryl Hapke traveled to Goa, India March 12-26, 2008 to participate as an invited coastal researcher on a workshop that is exploring the establishment of an International Center for Coastal Water Resources. Hapke gave a presentation on the coastal geomorphology of the Goa coastline and spoke of coastal issues related to the impact of rising sea level and increased development on Goan coastal water quality. Nine scientists from government, academia and the private sector participated in the workshop, which was funded by the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum.
