Description of Job Duty Competency to be Achieved

Demonstrate ability to oversee effective operation of data dissemination systems.

Description of Need

Near-real time distribution of hydrometeorological data is critical to meet program requirements.

Specific Job Task Skills and Knowledge

1. Demonstrate the ability to oversee operation and administrative support of the Local Data Acquisition and Dissemination (LDAD) interface.

2. Demonstrate the ability to oversee operation and administrative support of the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) interface to LDAD.

3. Demonstrate knowledge of ASOS data acquisition process.

4. Demonstrate knowledge of data acquisition process for other aviation observations (non-ASOS).

5. Demonstrate knowledge of data acquisition process for supplementary observations.

6. Demonstrate knowledge of data acquisition process for coop data.

7. Demonstrate use of the Internet for data acquisition.

8. Demonstrate use of phone systems such as ROSA to conduct data acquistion.
