Disaster Assistance Service Center In Bay Ridge Closes Friday

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Disaster Assistance Service Centers in Bay Ridge, one of two assistance centers serving people in Brooklyn who suffered losses from storms August 8, will close Friday Sept. 28, 2007.

Friday will be the last time applicants for Federal and State assistance can meet face-to-face with Federal, State, and City experts who staff the Bay Ridge assistance center.

Two Disaster Assistance Service Centers will remain open.  The center at 137-77 Northern Blvd., Flushing, Queens, and the center at 240 Division Ave., Williamsburg, Brooklyn, will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays (closed weekends).

Speech or hearing impaired individuals should call (TTY) 1-800-462-7585.  Telephone lines are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. This line can also be used as a helpline to follow up on your application.
