NOAA Marine Operations regularly has openings for civilian mariners aboard NOAA's research vessels.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Entry-Level:
General Vessel Assistant (GVA) is the entry-level position for all departments. GVA is equivalent to Ordinary Seaman, Ordinary Fisherman, when assigned to the deck department and Wiper, when assigned to the engineering department.
