The Secretary assessed the DOE's progress during these first months, including implementing the significant new funding for the Department through the Recovery Act, new funding for wind energy programs and outlined his vision for the months and years ahead and the Department’s role in solving the energy challenge. Update on Influenza (Swine Flu) The U.S. Department of Energy has been informed by the CDC and the Maryland Department of Health (DHMH) that 3 "probable" 2009 H1N1 influenza (swine flu) cases identified within the State of Maryland and announced on April 29, 2009 were associated with and secondarily infected by a DOE employee. more>
