Description | This is a Joint Industry Project (JIP) that used the results of Hurricane Andrew to evaluate engineering methods for predicting platform failure or survivability by comparing screening analysis and/or detailed failure analysis against actual field data (i.e. platforms that were exposed to Andrew and either survived, collapsed, or were damaged). In addition, the study will also examined the concept of a formal Offshore Platform Evaluation System as a management information system. |
