Interview with Maryland Democratic Party Chair Susan Turnbull

05-May-2009

Ms. Susan Turnbull is currently the Chair of Maryland Democratic Party and the Former Vice Chair of Democratic National Committee.

In an interview with Bangla Service's Shegoftah Nasreen Queen, Ms. Turnbull commented on President Barack Obama's first 100 days in office.

She said the major accomplishments were the progress that was made nationally and internationally – passage of largest recovery and reinvestment ACT and the restoration of American standing abroad.

She spoke about President Obama building a great foundation in Congress, moving forward with a clear vision of the international world, working with women's issues including Lilly Ledbetter ACT and global gag rule. She also spoke about Republicans not answering President Obama's call for bipartisanship.
