Air Quality Permit Hearing

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department has received a permit revision request from the Arizona Public Service Company [APS] West Phoenix Power Plant facility.  A public hearing will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 to discuss the permit renewal for the following facility:

 

·         APS West Phoenix Power Plant located at 4606 West Hadley.  This location is an electric power generating station with the following air contaminants regulated in the permit: volatile organic compounds, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, particulate matter and sulfur dioxide.   The company is filing for a permit revision with the Air Quality Department.  Proposed permit/permit renewal number: V95006.

 

The Air Quality Department will hold a public hearing regarding this permit on Thursday, July 13, 2006 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the APS facility, 4606 West Hadley, Phoenix, Arizona 85043.

 

The purpose of this hearing is to receive comments from the public for the permit renewal. Comments should address whether the proposed permit meets the criteria for issuance in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes §§§ 49-426, 49-427 and 49-480.  Maricopa County personnel will be in attendance to answer specific questions on the permit renewal.  No formal presentations will be made. Members of the public may comment in person through either oral statements to a court reporter or through written statements.  Written comments shall state the name and mailing address of the person making comment and be signed by that person or authorized agent or attorney.  In addition to providing oral or written comments at the hearing, any person may submit written comments to the department at its address above provided they are received no later than Friday, July 14, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.

 

The permit/renewal/permit application/etc may be reviewed by contacting the Records Management Coordinator at (602) 506-6201 or at the department's address: 1001 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85004.  Arrangements may be made to view the information every Monday through Friday (excluding major holidays) between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.  There is a small fee for copying available documents.
