Air Quality Violators Pay Over $41K in January
The Maricopa County Air Quality Department announces $41,787 in air quality violation settlements made during the month of January 2006. A list of all settlement cases for the month of January are listed at the bottom of this document including the following three:
SunCor Development Co. signed a settlement agreement for $16,800 for the following alleged dust control and permit requirement violations: failure to operate a water application system on site, failure to comply with rules concerning weed abatement, failure to implement control measures on unpaved haul/access roads and for failure to obtain an earthmoving permit. These violations took place at two locations: Indian School & Pebble Creek Parkway in Goodyear, AZ and Litchfield Park and Thomas Road in Goodyear, AZ. SunCor Development Co. has two different office locations. One office is located at 1616 N. Litchfield Road #270 in Goodyear, AZ and the other office is located at 80 E. Rio Salado Parkway #410 in Tempe, AZ. The settlement amount is due in full on March 1, 2006.
Shea Homes LP signed a settlement agreement for the amount of $15,000 for alleged air pollution violations all relating to dust control. These violations are for failing to comply with rules on weed abatement and for failing to implement control measures before, during and after conducting dust generating operations. These violations occurred at three different locations: Greenway & Cotton in Surprise, AZ; 83rd Avenue & Lower Buckeye in Phoenix, AZ and Higley & Riggs Road in Gilbert, AZ. Shea Homes’ office is located at 8800 N. Gainey Center Drive #350 in Scottsdale, AZ. Payment was received in full on January 10, 2006.
SJL Construction signed a settlement agreement for $6,270. The agreement was for failure to implement control measures before, during and after conducting dust generating operations. These dust violations took place at Sossaman & Ray Road in Mesa, AZ. The SJL Construction office is located at 4040 E. Magnolia Street in Phoenix. Payment was received in full on January 30, 2006.
