Maricopa County Seal

i n s i g h t : The Maricopa County Seal has been updated. Great care was taken to maintain the equity of the old seal while taking the opportunity to make improvements. The most notable change to the seal is the color and improved clarity. The type was changed to improve readability. The interior icons have been updated and simplified for ease of understanding. The colors used in the seal reflect our unique desert environment.

THE SEAL CAN NOT BE ALTERED IN ANY WAY. Seal must comply with color, typeface and spacing as outlined below and in the Graphic Standard Guidelines Manual.

c o l o r : The following are approved colors for use within the seal: (1) Burnt Red (PMS 187) outer ring,ribbon and shield, (2) Indigo (PMS 541) seal background and type,(3) Moss (PMS 363) vegetation and shield icons,and (4) Cream (PMS 7500) type,vegetation,shield and icons. These colors are for use in the four-color seal and are the primary colors of the County.

Additional colors available for the one color seal are; MC Black, MC Khaki or *PMS 7503, MC Ocotillo or *PMS 167, MC Burnt Red or *PMS 187, MC Eggplant or *PMS 2622, MC Indigo or *PMS 541, MC Moss or *PMS 363, MC Spinach or *PMS 357. (Color Palettes are embedded in the ai & eps files)

s i g n a t u r e s : The signature is the combination of the seal and the type (logotype).The vertical and horizontal images shown below are the only acceptable formats for use when representing Maricopa County. The approved typeface for the logo is "Garamond". The "one-color" seal and text may be colored with one of the approved colors listed in the color section above.

AI - Adobe Illustrator Format, high resolution, vector based image, spot color (AI files are version 8 compatible)

EPS - Encapsulated Postscript File, high resolution, spot color

TIF - Tagged-Image File Format, high resolution, cmyk color

JPG (or JPEG) - Joint Photographics Expert Group Compressed File, low resolution of 72 dpi,
commonly used for websites

GIF - Graphics Interchange Format, low resolution of 72 dpi, commonly used for websites

PNG - Portable Network Graphics, is an extensible file format for the lossless, portable, well-compressed storage of raster images. Indexed-color, grayscale, and truecolor images are supported, plus an optional alpha channel for transparency. Sample depths range from 1 to 16 bits.
