Brief Description:
The objective of the National Research Service Award (NRSA) F33 program is to provide senior fellowship support to experienced
scientists who wish to make major changes in the direction of their research careers or who wish to broaden their scientific
background by acquiring new research capabilities as independent research investigators in scientific health-related fields
relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs).
The purpose of the National Research Service Award Act (NRSA) is to help ensure that diverse pools of highly trained scientists
will be available in adequate numbers and in appropriate research areas to carry out the Nation's biomedical, behavioral and
clinical research agendas. The proposed senior level research training must be within the broad scope of biomedical, behavioral,
or clinical research or other specific disciplines relevant to the research mission of the participating NIH Institutes and
Centers.
