Paul Gauguin, Two Marquesans, recto, c. 1902106 prints, 1 volume, and 1 drawing in various stages of completion were selected for this exhibition, which explored the issue of aesthetic resolution in European printmaking from the 15th to the early 20th century. Hendrik Goltzius, Rembrandt van Rijn, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, Paul Gauguin, and Edvard Munch were among the artists whose work was shown. The works were selected from the collection of the National Gallery of Art.
