Primary Occupations

               Bank Examiners and Examiner's-In-Charge

Our Examiners-in-Charge (EICs) and Bank Examiners serve on or lead Finance Board examination teams that perform on-site examinations, quarterly reviews, and off-site monitoring of the Federal Home Loan Banks.  The EICs are responsible for all aspects of the supervisory process involving his or her designated FHLBank, including making assignments and directing examination resources, reviewing and editing the work products of the examiners, preparing memoranda and other written communications, maintaining a thorough understanding of all examination issues, writing the examination report, and presenting examination results to the Federal Home Loan Banks’ senior management and boards of directors, and to senior officials within the Federal Housing Finance Board.

Although the scope varies with each supervisory examination or review, examination teams typically evaluate management competence, corporate governance, risk assessment, risk management, operating performance, credit and collateral operations, financial management, bank technology, affordable housing activities, community investment activities, and other areas of potential risk which may affect each Federal Home Loan Bank.

                 Other Finance Board Occupations

In addition to Bank Examiners, the Finance Board hires a number of other professionals in the administrative and financial fields to support the examination teams and to provide day-to-day operational services.  These positions include Financial Analysts, Economists, Accountants, Attorneys, Administrative Officers and a host of Management/Program Analysts who are involved in numerous operational activities throughout the Board.
