A-to-Z Digitization Project
The A-to-Z Digitization Project encompasses pre-1960 government documents, scanned in alphabetical call number order (in progress). We are digitizing them alphabetically, starting with the call number A, which includes agricultural documents.
Big Books
Big Books are valuable teaching aids when working with emergent or young readers. The Libraries houses a strong collection of these items in English and Spanish with a variety of both fiction and non-fiction books. A listing of the Big Books housed in the Libraries is provided
Dorothy Howard Collection
Dorothy Howard, author on children's games and folklore, graduated from NTSTC in 1923 and taught in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Nebraska. She published extensively, including poetry, articles and books (Dorothy's World: Childhood in Sabine Bottom, 1902-1910, (1977), and Pedro of Tonalá (1989)).

Federal Newsmaps
These Newsmaps were published by the War Department of the U.S. during World War II. They feature narrative descriptions, photographic essays, and/or poster-like designs on various themes.
Goldmine: Microforms Finding Aid
The Goldmine project is a web-based finding aid to the holdings of the Microforms Department. It is is arranged by broad subject areas, and includes many of the larger sets and groups of items. It is not a complete index to the microforms collections, but includes many rare and out-of-print materials held as microforms.

Jean-Baptiste Lully Collection
The University of North Texas Music Library's Jean-Baptiste Lully Collection includes almost 30 rare 17th- and 18th-century scores of operas and ballets by the 17th-century French composer Jean-Baptiste Lully and his sons. Many of the volumes are 1st editions printed by Christophe Ballard, who held the privelège for music printing under King Louis XIV. ...
Juvenile Collections
We have a number of juvenile books in the Willis Library to support the College of Education and the School of Library and Information Science, and related disciplines. We house the complete set of Bluebonnet, Caldecott, Newberry, and Coretta Scott King award books.
Larry McMurtry Collection
Finding aid to the Larry McMurtry Collection, a part of the Rare Book & Texana Collections. Includes manuscripts, papers, and published volumes. Larry McMurtry, noted author and screenwriter, earned a B.A. from NTSU in 1958. A native of Texas, McMurtry's works include Horseman, Pass By; Leaving Cheyenne; Lonesome Dove; and Cadillac Jack.
Latin American Collection
A finding aid to selected materials on Latin America in the holdings of the Rare Book & Texana Collections. Includes original and facsimile materials, maps, travel accounts, and materials from the 1500's to the present.
Mary Webb Collection
Information about British poet and author Mary Webb and the Mary Webb Collection housed in the Rare Book & Texana Collections. Includes a finding aid to the collection. The Mary Webb materials include first editions, important printings, manuscript materials, books about Mary Webb, and related works about Shropshire.
Miniature Book Collection
Information about the Miniature Book Collection of the Rare Book & Texana Collections. The collection contains books less than 4" (10 cm.) tall from around the world and throughout history. From microscopic modern works to 16th century prayerbooks, this collection highlights the skill, artistry, and talents of the miniature book producers.
Pat Warde Memorial Collection of Southern Letters
After her untimely death from cancer, friends and family established the Pat Warde Memorial Collection of Southern Letters to honor Pat's dedication to libraries, learning, and education. The collection contains first editions, signed copies, and important research works on southern literature and poetry.
Rare Book Collections

Slavery in the New World
The Rare Book & Texana Collections contains a significant collection of materials on slavery in the New World. This finding aid highlights some of the items available to researchers, and includes a variety of anti- and pro-slavery materials.
Texana Collections
Early explorer accounts, the history of Dr. Pepper, signed documents by Sam Houston and Santa Anna, laws and decrees, biographies, memoirs, and archives of artists and authors are all part of the Texana Collections.
Texas County and City Histories
The Texas County Histories Collection showcases the rich tapestry and proud heritage of Texas and Texans as represented by the volumes held in the Rare Book & Texana Collections. Stories of early pioneers, hopeful immigrants, lawbreakers, and the heritage of those here now are all part of the history of Texas, her cities, and counties.
Texas Maps
From early 1700's explorers' discoveries to tourist maps of the mid 1900's, the Texas Maps Collection in the Rare Book & Texana Collections houses a notable group of maps showing the changing look of Texas. Significant items include maps showing land grants, early settlements, and the growth of the railroads.
