FAQ

Rare Book and Texana Collections FAQ.

  1. What Is My Book Worth?
  2. Can My Book Be Repaired?

1. What Is My Book Worth?

The monetary worth of a given book is a difficult question to answer.  The staff of the Rare Book & Texana Collections are not permitted to do appraisals, but can assist you in determining "ball park" values for items.  HOWEVER, without seeing the items in person, it is almost impossible to be sure of a value.  Please contact the staff of the Rare Book & Texana Collections for more information and to make an appointment to bring a book in to research.

2. Can My Book Be Repaired?

The staff of the Rare Book and Texana performs preservation work on our collection materials, but we do not generally repair items from the general public.  If you would like to contact us, we will be happy to offer you some suggestions or refer you to a list of professional conservators in the area.
