Library Material Delivery Service

For UNT Libraries owned materials, the Circulation Department will deliver regular circulating books, articles, movies, LPs, slides, and other library materials when any of the following criteria are met:

  • The request is for items located in Remote Storage.  Because of space limitations, many older books and periodicals are housed in Remote Storage.  Materials are generally retrieved within 24 hours, but no retrievals are made on weekends or holidays.  Remote Storage items generally circulate as regular circulating books.  Materials will be held at the appropriate circulation desk for no longer than 10 days.
  • The request is from faculty/students who are located at the Discovery Park and need materials from either the Science and Technology Library or the Willis Library.
  • The request is from faculty/students who are located at the main UNT Campus and need materials from the Discovery Park Library.
  • The request is from students who only attend classes at the UNT Dallas Campus and need materials from the main UNT Campus.

How to request books or journal articles owned by UNT Libraries:

Distance Learning Students should enter requests for UNT owned materials through their ILLiad account.

Faculty members may request a copy of any article, book chapter, or conference paper through their ILLiad account

All other requesters should use the Library Materials Delivery Request Form.

How to request long runs of Remote Storage periodicals at one time:

Graduate students or faculty members who need access to long runs of periodicals or to a large series of volumes at one time should call the General Circulation Desk (940/56-2413) or email Circulation to request use of the Annex Reading Room.  The volumes needed will be pulled and placed in the Reading Room for on site use by the requester.  Use of the room must be scheduled at least 24 hours or more in advance and is subject to availability.  A photocopy machine and facilities for a computer are provided.  If you need the materials for more than one day, please inform Circulation at the time of your initial request.  Maps and directions to the Library Annex will be given at the time the room is reserved.
