03/11/2009 Leaders of Syria, Egypt and Kuwait arrive in Riyadh
Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah arrived in Riyadh today to participate in a mini summit called for by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
Each of the three leaders were welcomed at Riyadh Air Base by King Abdullah and a number of top Saudi officials, including Acting Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz; Deputy Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz; and Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Mohammed Al Saud.
President Assad was accompanied by Foreign Minister Walid Al-Moallem; Political and Information Advisor to the President Dr. Buthaina Shaaban; and Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Faisal Mekdad.
President Mubarak’s delegation included Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit; Chief of General Intelligence Omar Suleiman; and Head of the Office of the Presidency Dr. Zakaria Azmi.
The Kuwaiti delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Sabah; Director of the Office of the Emir Ahmad Al-Fahd; Chief of Emiri Protocols Sheikh Khalid Al-Sabah; and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Khalid Al-Jarallah.
