Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and the Illinois State Police (ISP) are partnering with numerous law enforcement agencies around the state this weekend and throughout St. Patrick’s Day to remind everyone to act responsibly by designating a sober driver if they plan on consuming alcohol this St. Patrick’s Day.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois State Police (ISP) officials announced details today about the You Drink & Drive. You Lose campaign in an effort to prevent impaired driving around the Super Bowl. They are also reminding fans of the new law that requires a Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device (BAIID) be installed for first-time DUI offenders.

Governor Rod R. Blagojevich is pleased to announce the first recipients of the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) Civil Engineer Scholarship Program. The new scholarship program utilizes federal transportation funds to enhance the diversity and quality of IDOT’s civil engineering workforce. The selected recipients will be offered up to $3,500 in tuition assistance for the upcoming Spring 2009 semester.
