RTA Seeks Input for Pace Chicago ADA Paratransit Audit Listening Sessions

Sessions set to gather comments from paratransit riders

CHICAGO – The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is hosting a series of Pace Chicago ADA Paratransit Audit Listening Sessions beginning March 17. The sessions are encouraging paratransit riders to offer their comments for the ADA Paratransit audit for the Chicago service region. The audit will examine and present recommendations about the coordinated reservation and dispatching system and the new three-zone system that involves assigned contract carriers.

Bishop Horace E. Smith Appointed to RTA Board

CHICAGO – Dr. Horace E Smith has been appointed to the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Board of Directors as one of five City of Chicago members. Mayor Richard M. Daley nominated Dr. Smith as a City of Chicago Representative to the 16-member RTA Board and the Chicago City Council voted to approve the nomination on February 11. With new transit reform legislation that became effective in January 2008, the number of RTA board members increased from 13 to 16.

CHICAGO – The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) Board announced at today’s board meeting approval for the upcoming RTA Funding Programs Call for Projects to begin on April 8, 2009. These programs provide financial support for planning, operating, and capital transit projects.
