Captain Conservation's Current Outdoor Water Exemptions
Existing Landscape – Hand watering is allowed from midnight-10am for 25 minutes based on odd-even address system. No watering is allowed on Friday. Hand watering is defined as one person with one garden hose with a spray nozzle that shuts off automatically when released.
New Landscape – You may apply for an exemption to water as needed with an irrigation system from midnight to 10 am by contacting the state’s outdoor water registration program at www.outdoorwateruse.com. The information should also be sent to sfuller@gainesville.org. No watering is allowed on Friday. Again, irrigation systems may be used, but hand watering is encouraged.
