ReportSearch is an application in SearchPoint developed to facilitate searching SAND Reports as well as technical reports from Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Please note that due to changes in software application, information system assignments and priorities, searchable SAND report literature is pre-2007. Due to project cancellation in 2004, searchable LANL and NASA report literature is pre-2004 and based on partial LANL and NASA content.

Customers are encouraged to use the Library Online Catalog for searching reports. The Catalog is the most comprehensive way to find SAND reports. From the Catalog, you can search by report number (if known), title, keyword, or author (or any combination). The Catalog includes all SAND report data cataloged to date and is being updated daily.

SearchPoint is currently accessible for internal Sandia use only.
We also have SON access to SearchPoint with kerberos login.
Reports included in ReportSearch are:
  • unlimited, unclassified SAND reports, including formal reports, conference papers, and journal articles and unclassified, limited SAND reports.
  • with links to digital full-text SAND Reports in pdf format from 1988 to mid-2006. (The digitized SAND reports page provides additional information regarding years of coverage for electronically available SAND reports.)
  • Over 37,000 LANL reports (metadata only - no full-text)
  • Over 26,000 NASA reports (metadata only - no full-text)

Results will show both the title as an active link, along with bibliographic details, if there is a digital document available. Click on the link to access the document. Bibliographic details (author, title, subject, and other basic information) will display for those available in hardcopy or microfiche format. (If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF, you may download it, free of charge, from Adobe's homepage.) Electronic versions of unclassified, limited SAND Reports are accessible only by library staff to facilitate need-to-know access controls.

Some SAND Reports may be copyright protected and a password may be required for access. To request a copy of a report that is not listed on this web site:

The Library cannot supply SAND Reports that end in A, J and C outside of Sandia.
