Every year NCDEA provides an opportunity for attendees of NACD's Annual Meeting to experience a little of our host city and this year is no exception. Two Sunday afternoon tours to choose from and a Tuesday night of relaxing music. The first tour is of the Oak Alley Plantation. When you think of the south, you might think of a bygone era of plantation homes and mature oak trees shading the drive leading up to the home. Well, here is an opportunity to visit a plantation that has been the setting to motion pictures and even a daytime soap opera. This planatation has some fascinating history, which you will learn about on this tour. Be advised, due to the historic nature of the planation, access to the second floor is by stairs only. The second tour is a Swamp and Bayou Tour. If you like a little excitement in your tours, then this one might be for you. This tour will bring out the "wild" side of your host city - wildlife that is. You will experience the timeless beauty of the swamps and bayous and the Cajun "joie de vivre" during a narrated boat cruise. Some of the wildlife guests could include snakes, alligators, snapping tutles, egrets, and raccoons. This tour will operate rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. Both of these tours have limited seating, so make your reservations quickly. We need to have reservations in by December 15. For more information and to register, download the tour flyer. New Orleans is the birthplace of Jazz Music and we invite everyone to come, relax with us on Tuesday, February 3 and enjoy the music. We are sponsoring a Jazz Night at the Sheraton Hotel New Orleans from 9 - 11 pm. We will feature local artists who will help you relax, tap your toes and get into the feel of the Big Easy. Come mingle with old friends and make new friends all while listening to some awesome music. You can't go wrong with any of these events - come along and get to know your host city New Orleans, compliments of NCDEA.
