September 26, 2006—Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) today addressed a room full of military personnel, policymakers, and scientists. The subject of the speech was the importance of defending the homeland and our troops and friends overseas from the cruise missile threat. His speech was followed by an in depth roundtable discussion hosted by the George Marshall Institute.

 Congressman Franks stated, “Our enemy has the political will to cause death and destruction of catastrophic proportions to the United States, but they do not have the capacity to do it yet. Americans have the capacity to defend ourselves; we just need to steel the will of the American people and of the Congress so that we can defend ourselves from these emerging threats.”

 Trent Franks is the Congressman from the 2nd Congressional District of Arizona.  He is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Judiciary Committee and Vice Chairman of the Constitution Subcommittee
