point for administrative and fiscal issues related to NIDCR grants and cooperative
agreements. Oversight responsibilities include initial review, National Advisory
Council review, pre-award, post-award, and close-out. The Branch also advises
Scientific Program Staff, NIDCR Senior Leadership, and Awardees on administration
of grant and cooperative agreement programs; provides liaison with other NIH
and DHHS organizations and components regarding grant policies and procedures
in the administration of extramural assistance awards; processes all NIDCR grant
and cooperative agreement awards; and serves as the primary prior approval contact
point for changes to awards. Scientific Review BranchDr. Lynn King Dr. Yujing Liu Ms. Rebecca Roper Dr. Peter Zelazowski Dr. Philip Washko Ms. Mary Kelly Ms. Sooyoun (Sonia) Kim This Branch coordinates the initial scientific peer review of applications for all center research grants, small research grants, research conference grants, institutional training grants, short-term training grants and fellowship grants, Physician Scientist Awards for Dentists, Dentist Scientist Awards, Phase II awards for the Small Business Innovative Research and for the Small Business Technology Transfer Programs, Requests for Applications issued by the Institute, certain investigator-initiated clinical trials, cooperative agreements, and all proposals for research and development contracts. The NIDCR-directed reviews are carried out by the NIDCR Special Grants Review Committee, a chartered scientific initial review group, which can be supplemented by ad hoc consultants as well as by peer review groups (Special Emphasis Panels) convened especially for certain categories of applications and proposals. The Scientific Review Branch coordinates, conducts and monitors project site visits, applicant interviews and all other aspects of the peer review process. |
