IS YOUR BACKGROUND BEFITTING TO BECOME A LAFD FIREFIGHTER?

The City of Los Angeles' Background Standards reflect the very high standards demanded of public safety positions within City service. Each Firefighter candidate's past choices, judgments, and behaviors will be compared to these demanding Standards. Under each Standard, some examples of potentially disqualifying behavior are identified. Candidates are asked to critically assess their own background in light of these Standards before beginning the examination process. Click here to view The Background Standards.
