The employment opportunities listed herein reflect only a portion of the available openings the City of San Diego has to offer. The City does not advertise widely for positions where the numbers of local applicants significantly exceed the number of jobs available (e.g., Fire Recruit, Laborer, entry level Grounds Maintenance). These jobs are opened infrequently and the resulting eligible list usually lasts for two years.
