Mission
The mission of the Office of the Assistant Inspector General for Joint & Southwest Asia Operations is to conduct audits and evaluations in support of combined, joint, interagency, and Service missions and plans. These audits and evaluations focus on personnel and materiel readiness, force protection, communications, contractor support operations, contract administration, acquisition, and finance. Our three divisions provide the full spectrum of audit oversight for the overseas-focused combatant commands (the European, Southern, Central, Pacific, African, and Special Operations Commands). The Joint Operations Division addresses systemic issues that span all of the commands. The two other Combatant Command Divisions (COCOM I and COCOM II) provide focused reviews on issues within the Combatant Commands geographic areas and Special Operations Command support to those areas. We deploy directorate staff from both Headquarters and field offices in the performance of this mission.
