Scorecard at a Glance: 2012 Trend Changes

The 49 societal indicators tracked through Virginia Performs show that the Commonwealth continues generally to acquit itself well.

Over the 2011-12 fiscal year, 7 societal indicators have seen shifts in performance significant enough to warrant a trend (arrow) change. Some of the most important are in Virginia's economy: After two consecutive years of improvement, Personal Income went from Worsening to Improving, as did Unemployment -- both welcome signs of economic recovery.

Virginia also saw Health and Family performance improvements in Immunization, Smoking, and Suicide. See the table below for a complete list of trend changes; see the Scorecard at a Glance for a performance summary on all indicators.
