Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, bringing you “Healthy Moments” from the National Institutes of Health. I’m the Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Did you know that you could have kidney disease and, like many others, you may not know it until right before your kidneys fail? Early kidney disease has no symptoms. The only way to know if you have kidney disease is to get your blood and urine tested.
If you learn that you do have kidney disease, you can take steps to prevent or delay kidney failure. These steps include controlling your blood pressure, managing your diabetes, and taking your medications.
To find out more about kidney disease, order our free Family Reunion Health Guide on the website nkdep.nih.gov or call 1-866-4 KIDNEY.
This is Dr. Griffin Rodgers. Join me next week for more Healthy Moments.
