A critical part of NHGRI's mission continues to be the study of the ethical, legal and social implications (ELSI) of genome research. Who will be participating in the chatroom?NHGRI experts will be on hand to field questions from students on a wide range of topics, including basic science, clinical research, genomic careers and the ethical, legal and social implications of genomic research. Top of page What software is required for me to participate in the chatroom?Since the chatroom is Web-based, an up-to-date Web browser, a computer and an Internet connection are required. The chatroom is compatible with the following browsers on Windows: Internet Explorer 6.0+, Netscape 7.0+ , Mozilla Firefox 1.0+ and Safari 3.0+. It is compatible with the following browsers on Mac: Safari 1.3+, Netscape 6.0+ and Mozilla Firefox 1.0+. We recognize visitors to the online chatroom may be using different operating systems and Web browsers and hope every visitor has the best possible experience with this chatroom.
