Chemistry
Chemical Component Dictionary
Non-Federal Website: IUPAC nomenclature for standard amino acids and nucleotides, stereochemical assignments, aromatic bond assignments, idealized coordinates, chemical descriptors (SMILES & InChI), and systematic chemical names.
A summary page for each chemical component provides a 2D chemical diagram and 3D graphic (using Jmol) of an existing ligand followed by a structure report containing information on the physical and chemical features of the ligand is available. The report will also include status information regarding when the ligand was first created and the last modification date. The end of the report will have links to the component definition in CIF and PDBML/XML formats along with model coordinates, idealized coordinates, and chemical diagrams.
Genetics
Amazonia!
Non-Federal Website: Query public human transcriptome data by keyword in thematic pages and with list annotations. The thematic pages will let you will see the expression of your favorite gene across selected microarray experiments related to your area of interest. This selection of samples can be customized at will among the 3228 samples currently present in the database. The list annotations indicate for each gene in which lists it is included. (Every transcriptome study results in the identification of lists of genes relevant to a given biological condition.)
Science
Canary Database
Non-Federal Website: Curated and indexed scientific studies from MEDLINE, CAB Abstracts, and Agricola on evidence of animals as "early warning" sentinels of human health hazards. Find evidence of animal as sentinels for environmental hazards, diseases or by location.
