Chris I. Baker, Ph.D., Investigator |

Dr. Baker received his B.A. from the University of Cambridge in 1995 and his
Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in 1999, where he studied neural
mechanisms of object recognition. During a postdoctoral fellowship at the
Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition in Pittsburgh, he continued to study
neural mechanisms underlying object recognition, combining single unit
physiology with human behavioral studies. In 2003, Dr. Baker moved to MIT to
pursue functioning neuroimaging in humans during a second postdoctoral
fellowship. In 2006, Dr. Baker joined NIMH as an Investigator in the Laboratory
of Brain and Cognition. His laboratory currently investigates learning and
plasticity in the cortex using a combination of functional imaging and
behavioral methods.
