ST. LOUIS – The Bonneville St. Louis Radio Group is proud to announce an agreement with the St. Louis Rams to air the NFL team’s games on Sports/Talk 101.1 beginning in 2009. The two-year deal includes broadcast radio rights for St. Louis Rams football games for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

As previously announced, Bonneville St. Louis Radio Group is set to debut Sports/Talk 101.1 with a sports talk format beginning January 1, 2009, when the former MOViN 101.1 FM signal will assume the local broadcast affiliation for the ESPN radio network in St. Louis.

“We are looking forward to partnering with ESPN, one of the great brands in sports,” said Bob Reif, chief marketing officer, St. Louis Rams. “We have been exploring several potential radio partners, but ultimately chose Bonneville based in part on their great sports radio heritage, and the fact they presented a format that is most compatible with the Rams’ fan base. We are very confident in their ability to deliver a great product to our valued fans.”

Bonneville International Corporation’s portfolio of Sports/Talk radio stations and professional sports team partnerships include the Washington Capitals (NHL) and Washington Nationals (MLB) on the Bonneville Sports Radio Network in Washington, D.C.; the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB), Arizona Cardinals (NFL) and Arizona State University football and basketball (NCAA) on Sports 620 KATR in Phoenix, Arizona; and the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and Seattle Mariners (MLB) on News Talk 97.3 KIRO FM and 770 KTTH: The Truth in Seattle, Washington.

“Bonneville is thrilled to announce this partnership with the St. Louis Rams,” said John Kijowski, vice president and Bonneville St. Louis market manager. ”Professional sports teams and their fans are a huge part of this city’s culture. NFL football media coverage, including sports radio play-by-play, has been a mainstay in the St. Louis market. We expect the interest in St. Louis Rams football to grow with the introduction of our FM sports/talk radio station to the St. Louis area.”

According to Jason Barrett, program director for Sports/Talk 101.1, “From the moment we decided to venture into this format, our goal was to secure play by play properties which would help us grow our audience numbers, attract advertisers and create separation from others who have attempted to do sports radio in this market. With the addition of the St. Louis Rams and NFL play by play, we believe we have taken a major step towards accomplishing that goal.”

While a decision regarding the current Rams Radio personnel will be made after the 2008 season, Barrett said, “I’ve always been impressed with the personnel and the production of Rams Radioi, and I’m eager to work with the Rams radio crew to take the next step in the growth process of the game broadcasts and develop the product further.

“We believe better times are just around the corner for the St. Louis Rams, and they are a major part of our short and long term strategy for success. I couldn’t be more excited about our future working together.”

Bonneville’s corporate commitment to the communities they serve was another big reason the St. Louis Rams signed on with Sports/Talk 101.1. “Bonneville’s corporate stance of ongoing support of community organizations meshes well with the Rams’ charitable philosophy,” said Reif.

“We are looking forward to a positive and fruitful relationship with the St. Louis Rams franchise,” said Kijowski. “Sports radio listeners, as well as the St. Louis community at large, will ultimately be the beneficiaries of this sports media partnership.”
