Child Nutrition
Congress completed legislation for
the long-term, five year package of programs that include school
lunch program, child
and adult care food program, and WIC (Women, Infants and Children).
- The Senate Committee
prepared reauthorization
of the Child Nutrition Act which the Senate adopted
by unanimous consent early in the evening of June 23, 2004. The
House of Representatives adopted the Senate bill the next day, and on June
30, 2004, President Bush signed the bill into law.
