WHITE COUNTY MEMORIAL RECEIVES 2ND FEDERAL GRANT;
  Buyer Secures $198K Grant For Hospital

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Steve Buyer (IN-04) has assisted White County Memorial Hospital with receiving a second grant from the Department of Health and Human Services.  The federal grant amount is $198,432 and will go towards the construction and equipment for the new White County Memorial Hospital. The Hospital will move into its new facility on October 25, located south on Sixth Street in Monticello.

“The new White County Memorial Hospital is a great investment for White County and the surrounding areas and puts great, competitive health care much closer to home for White County residents.  I look forward to the completion of this hospital so residents may utilize the facility and not have to travel to Lafayette and Indianapolis,” commented Buyer.  “We have very talented doctors, nurses, and physicians in White County, now we will have a facility to complement their talents.”

This is the second federal grant that Congressman Buyer has secured for the Hospital.  The first grant went towards the purchase of nuclear medicine equipment.

“This is the second grant the Hospital has received, through Congressman Buyer’s actions, and will help purchase additional equipment that is needed for the new facility.  The $195,000 federal grant is great news for the White County Memorial Hospital as we move into the new facility on October 25.  In 2007, the hospital received a federal grant in the amount of $198,000 that went towards the purchase of new nuclear medicine equipment for the radiology department.  Many thanks to Congressman Buyer for his work to secure these federal grants are making White County Memorial Hospital a cutting edge facility.  The Congressman is a strong proponent to the successes of this new facility,” remarked Paul Cardwell, CEO of White County Memorial Hospital.
