Rep. Price Named Ranking Member on Workforce Protections Subcommittee
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Tom Price (GA-06-R) issued the following statement upon accepting the Ranking Member position, the senior Republican post, on the Workforce Protections Subcommittee, part of the House Education and Labor Committee. The subcommittee oversees such issues as worker’s compensation and the federal minimum wage.
“It is a privilege to accept the Ranking Member position on the Workforce Protections Subcommittee,” said Price. “I look forward to working with Subcommittee Chair Lynn Woolsey as well as full committee Ranking Member Buck McKeon and Chairman George Miller. As Washington strains to provide an effective answer to the country’s economic problems, it is important that we implement solutions that will allow businesses to flourish without being weighed down by onerous regulations. The Workforce Protections Subcommittee is an ideal forum to address the issues that affect businesses and workers every day and ensure that Washington works to find solutions instead of creating more problems.”
Full Committee Ranking Member Buck McKeon (CA-R) issued the following statement welcoming Rep. Price:
“Rep. Price is an ideal leader for the Workforce Protections Subcommittee, offering a principled vision for job creation and workplace reform in the 21st century. He has a proven track record of leadership on the Education and Labor Committee, and his appointment to this post will serve his constituents and all American workers well,” said Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon (R-CA), the senior Republican on the Education and Labor Committee.
