WHO: - U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th), Senior Member of the House Financial Services Committee - Kris White, Executive Director, Will County Center for Community Concerns (WCCC) - Belithia Johnson, Housing Supervisor, WCCC - Steve Gulden, Village Manager, Romeoville - Bob Kalnicky, Executive Director, Community Service Council of Northern Will County (CSC) - Carol Penning, Board President, CSC - Other members of the CSC Board and housing counseling staff WHAT: Biggert will join local community leaders and housing specialists to discuss the housing challenges facing Will County, as well as discuss potential solutions for residents facing foreclosure, both locally and nationally. WHEN: Monday, January 12, 2009 11:30 am WHERE: Community Service Council of Northern Will County 619 Access Drive Romeoville, IL 60446 WHY: Approximately 3 million foreclosures are predicted to occur this year nationwide, and Will County remains among the hardest-hit counties in the state. In order to address this growing problem, many local communities have stepped-up their efforts to help keep families in their homes by providing housing assistance and mortgage counseling services. At Monday’s roundtable, Will County service providers and officials will meet with U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert to discuss challenges faced by the area’s housing market and potential solutions that can be advanced locally and through the newly-convened 111th Congress.
