| Description: |
The marriage license is required before a couple can be offically married. Once the license becomes effective, the couple has 60 days to have the ceremony performed anywhere in Oregon. The marriage license is the official record of the marriage.

Offical application, completely filled out and signed by the bride and groom. An application may be obtained in person or by mail. To order an application, call (503) 655-8659 and leave your name and address. An application and instruction sheet will be mailed to you. |

After the application is issued, there is a three day waiting period before the license may be used. The forms requesting a waiver of the waiting period are available in the Recorder's Office.
marriage licenses are issued at the Recorder's Office, 2051 Kaen Rd., 2nd floor, Oregon City, Oregon 97045. The office hours are:
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Monday
7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday thru Thursday
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (2:30 p.m. end for recording and issuing documents)
