Fire Service Leadership Issue National Calls
Jan. 7, 2009… Need for Working Smoke Alarms The IAFC, its Fire & Life Safety Section and several metro fire chiefs joined U.S. Fire Administrator Chief Greg Cade in asking all residents to install, maintain and test their smoke alarms. This national effort is a result of one of the deadliest holiday seasons in recent memory—since Thanksgiving 2008, there have been more than 158 fatal fires in the U.S., resulting in over 200 fire fatalities.
