Introduction

What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution that includes headlines, summaries and links. Y-12 offers RSS 2.0 feeds for recent press releases and current stories found on our site.

Subscribing to Y-12 RSS feeds is simple. Below are a few examples for News Readers and the latest browsers:

  • Drag the orange XML icon into your favorite News Reader

What is a News Reader?

A News Reader (also known as an RSS aggregator) is software which enables you to get the latest news headlines, in RSS format, delivered straight to your desktop. Some News Readers also allow you to set up watches or filters to control the source and frequency of updates.

Where can I get a News Reader?

A wide range of RSS News Readers are available for most operating systems. Several of the most popular are free. Search for "RSS News Reader" on any of the top search sites for links to the most popular products.

  • New Hope Center at Y-12 Earns Energy Leadership Certification

    The New Hope Center at the Y‑12 National Security Complex has been recognized as a LEED Certified facility by the U.S. Green Building Council. Achieving LEED certification is a rigorous process that only a small percentage of the buildings in the country attain. Currently, there are only eight facilities currently in Tennessee that have LEED certification. Of those eight Tennessee facilities, five are located in Oak Ridge.

    The B&W Y-12 Direct-Hire Construction team has worked two million hours, covering a four-year period without a lost-time injury. That’s the equivalent of 1,000 people working four years without a lost-time accident. The Construction team’s last lost workday was in April 2004.
