Washington, D.C. – Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) CEO Ambassador John Danilovich today released the following statement regarding recent developments in the U.S. House of Representatives related to MCC:
“I would like to thank and commend Chairman Donald Payne (D-NJ) of the House Subcommittee on Africa for his leadership and commitment to fighting global poverty. The legislation he introduced along with Congressman Ander Crenshaw (R-FL), HR 7165, the “Millennium Challenge Compact Improvement Act”, will help the Millennium Challenge Corporation optimize the use of taxpayer dollars and maximize our efforts to achieve long-term, sustainable development in our partner countries."
“Additionally, I would also like to thank Congressmen Adam Smith (D-WA) and Christopher Shays (R-CT), as well as their 36 colleagues in the House, for signing a letter supporting effective, results-driven foreign assistance through the Millennium Challenge Corporation. This strong expression of bipartisan support for MCC’s innovative approach is yet another reminder of the U.S. Government’s leadership in the global fight against poverty.”
