"I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones. The United States has lost a true leader, visionary and trail blazer. In the House of Representatives and in the State of Ohio she championed the rights of African Americans, women and workers. I will always admire her for having the courage to stand up for her convictions and to work hard to better the lives of the people in her district and across the country. Representative Tubbs-Jones will forever be an inspiration to all who knew her.

My thoughts and prayers are with her son, her family, and her friends at this most difficult time."
