Ros-Lehtinen Votes To Cut |

Washington, DC --- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen issued the following statement after voting to cut the interest that students pay on their student loans. The bill is H.R. 5-The College Student Relief Act. The final vote was 356 to 71. "Education is the foundation of a successful and productive life, but today's students are faced with ever increasing tuition bills. It is with this thought in mind that I voted for H.R. 5-the College Student Relief Act. Students want to learn and grow in their communities but the high cost of education is a hindrance on their good intentions. We must do all we can to assure that the federal interest rates on student loans are cut and help our students save their hard earned money. This bill is a step in that direction." ### |
