Ros-Lehtinen Sets Up Meeting Between The Coast Guard

And Sombrero Beach Residents To Discuss

The Guards Housing Development Plans

Monroe County, Florida --- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen has set up a meeting between the Coast Guard and the residents of Sombrero Beach to discuss the Guards housing development plans within the Sombrero beach area. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 19th.

Residents from Marathon and Sombrero Beach, along with City Manager Mike Puto met with Ros-Lehtinen's Monroe representative, Kim Sovia-Crandon, to request assistance from the Congresswoman's office to help mediate a meeting between the Guard and local residents.

The open forum meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 19th at 5:00 PM at the Government Center. This meeting will allow the voices of the City of Marathon and of the residents of Sombrero Beach to be heard so that all concerns can be addressed before the actual groundbreaking of the housing project takes place. Ros-Lehtinen's office will be represented by Kim Sovia-Crandon, the Congresswoman's Monroe representative.

Said Ros-Lehtinen, "I would like to thank the Coast Guard under the leadership of new Key West Sector commander, Capt. Scott Buschman, along with Capt. Robert Grant and LCDR Mike Jackson for their invaluable assistance on this matter.  I would also like to congratulate City Manager Mike Puto as well as my aide in Monroe, Kim Sovia-Crandon, for their hard work to make this meeting a possibility. Thank you to all!"
