THIS SUNDAY: Ros-Lehtinen’s District Chief

To Represent Her With Military Families

& The South Florida Military Family Organization
 

Miami, Florida ---Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen will be represented this year at the annual South Florida Military Family Organization special event for military families by her District Chief of Staff, Debbie Musgrove Zimmerman. Mrs. Zimmerman will join with military family members and Mary Ann Cleveland, founder of the event, now held annually at the Keys Gate Golf and Country Club.

 

This idea from Mrs. Cleveland is a way for military families to celebrate National Military Appreciation Month, as well as meet local businesses; Chamber of Commerce members; meet with and ask questions of federal, state, county and local city agencies; and learn about the breadth of community support services and activities in the greater south Miami-Dade area.  Information tables, business cards, flyers, military discounts and special, donated door prizes, plus craft tables, games and a bounce house for the kids are part of the afternoon’s agenda.

 

WHO:       Ros-Lehtinen’s District Chief of Staff, Debbie Musgrove Zimmerman, Mary Ann Cleveland, and South Florida military families.

 

WHEN:     Sunday, June 8th, from 1 to 4 pm.

 

WHERE:  Keys Gate Golf & Country Club, located at 2300 Palm Drive (SW 344 Street), Homestead, FL

 

Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Ranking Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee,

and the senior member of the South Florida Congressional Delegation, is from a military family herself. 

Her husband, Dexter Lehtinen, was wounded in action in Vietnam and served for many years as a Captain

in the US Army Reserves, her stepson Dougie and his wife, Lindsay, were US Marine Corps officers flying

F-18A fighters in Iraq, and they will soon be teaching at the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD.

 

Debbie Zimmerman is a long time resident of south Miami-Dade County, living in Homestead near Homestead

Air Reserve Base. She has served with the US Congress, as Ros-Lehtinen’s District Chief of Staff for eighteen
