Ros-Lehtinen To Host A Keys Hurricane Preparedness Summit

In Marathon This Upcoming Sunday

 

Monroe County, Florida -- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, senior member of the Florida Congressional Delegation, will host a Keys Hurricane Preparedness Summit this upcoming Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Marathon Government Complex. The Summit is open to all members of the community interested in attending. Press is encouraged to attend.

 

This event will feature officials from local, state and federal levels of government, as well as leading hurricane researchers and scientists including National Hurricane Center Director, Bill Proenza and Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) Director Dr. Bob Atlas.  The topic of the meeting will be how to best be prepared in the likely scenario that another hurricane strikes South Florida.
