Rules and Regulations
The FCC rules and regulations are codified in Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). They are initially published
in the Federal Register. After October 1 of each year, the GPO compiles all the changes, additions, and deletions to the FCC
rules and publishes an updated CFR. This page links to the October 1, 2008 edition.
These links are provided here for your convenience. The rules are provided in text version and in portable document format
(PDF) and can be viewed using the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The FCC does not maintain a database of its rules nor does it print or stock copies of the rules and regulations. To order
a copy of Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations or to subscribe to the Federal Register visit GPO Ordering Information.
You can check the Federal Register to review rule changes since October 1, 2008. You can also view an electronic version of the most current CFR (eCFR). Please note, however, that this site contains this user notice:
The Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (e-CFR) is a current, daily updated version of the Code of Federal Regulations
(CFR). It is not an official legal edition of the CFR. The e-CFR is an unofficial editorial compilation of CFR material and
Federal Register amendments.
