It's the Law

Under New Mexico state law (NMSA 1978, Section 72-1-10), the Authority has the power to “set policy and regulate, supervise and administer the water and wastewater utility of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, including the determination and imposition of rates for services.” The Authority adopted several of the City of Albuquerque’s policies and procedures for the operation of the water and wastewater utility through a Memorandum of Understanding. The Authority will continue to be operated under the City’s policies and procedures until the Authority has adopted its own policies and procedures. Below are ordinances that the Authority has adopted.
